Free SEO Audit

An SEO audit that ends with a working plan, not a scored PDF.

We open the accounts, count what actually pays, and print the numbers that argue against our own invoice when they don’t hold up.

The kind of thing we find

Not what a scanner tells you. What the account was actually doing.

Every recent PushFire audit surfaced one thing the client’s existing reporting missed. Three examples, all from the last twelve months:

5

Google Ads accounts wired to one law firm’s site

Their reporting had been showing conversions from an account nobody knew was still tracking. The kind of finding you don’t get from a checklist. Personal injury firm, public-data audit, July 2026.

74%

of “free” search was people typing the venue’s own name

The client was ready to cut paid search because “55% of inquiries come from free Google.” Stripping brand terms flipped the conclusion completely. Event venue, Houston market, July 2026.

210

additional leads per year from one rebuilt page

Traffic barely moved (2,458 sessions to 2,512). What changed was structure, content, and conversion design. National employment firm, October 2025 rebuild.

Clients anonymized pending sign-off.

What’s actually in it

Every PushFire audit includes

  • Full search visibility map — branded vs. non-branded queries counted separately, so the “growing traffic” number reflects new demand, not people typing your name.
  • Backlink profile, live-verified — every URL we say is broken, we curl to confirm. No taking a scanner’s word for it.
  • Conversion tracking audit — do the numbers you see in reports match what actually happened in your CRM. Most sites have at least one leak; some have several.
  • Call tracking review — every ad-driven call credited back to the ad that produced it. Mobile call buttons that don’t swap numbers is a common cause of missed revenue.
  • 90-day content decay report — pages that were ranking and aren’t anymore. Recoverable authority sitting unclaimed.
  • Competitor visibility check — who’s ranking for your terms, and what they’re doing structurally that you aren’t.
  • Practical action list — ranked by ROI, not by how much billable work it creates for us. If the highest-ROI item is “do less of X,” we write that.

Done by hand — with our own eyes and our own brains — the same way PushFire has done audits since 2009.

Also covered in every audit
Technical SEO & crawl health
Indexing & Search Console signals
Site architecture & internal linking
On-page content & keyword coverage
Mobile experience & Core Web Vitals
Schema & structured data
AI-search readiness (LLM & AI Overviews)
Duplicate content & canonicalization
How the work happens

Three to four weeks. Five stages. No mystery box.

Every audit runs on the same pipeline. What changes site to site is what turns up in the data — not how we work.

Week 1 · Day 1–3
1. Kickoff & access
30-minute working call. You grant read-only access to GSC, GA4, Ads, and analytics. We install what’s missing.
Week 1–2
2. Data pull & crawl
Full crawl, backlink pull, GSC 16-month history, GA4 conversion path data, Ads account structure export. Everything cross-referenced.
Week 2–3
3. Hand analysis
A senior team member reviews every finding by hand. We curl URLs the scanner flagged as broken. We read conversion paths individually. We look at what the numbers can’t see.
Week 3
4. Priority ranking
Every recommendation gets an ROI score. If the highest-ROI move is “do less of X,” we write that first. Even when X is something you’re paying us for.
Week 3–4
5. Review call + written plan
60-minute call walking through findings with your team. Written plan delivered same day. You own the file. Implement in-house, hand to another vendor, or bring us in.

What makes it different

Most audits are marketing collateral. Ours are a decision-making tool.

Typical audit
  • Tool export dressed up as a report
  • Padded to justify next month’s retainer
  • PDF with red / yellow / green
  • Says “traffic is up”
  • Recommendations that keep the agency busy
PushFire audit
  • Executive read on 500+ URLs by hand
  • Ranked by ROI even when the answer is “do less”
  • Written action list your team can execute Monday
  • Says “signed cases up 3x, or here’s why it can’t be measured yet”
  • Recommendations you’d hire us to implement or that you can execute in-house
What it costs

Priced by the site, not by the seat.

A brochure-site audit and a 40-property multi-brand audit are not the same amount of work. We won’t pretend they are, and we won’t charge you for effort we didn’t do.

Free audit
$0 · ~5 business days
A focused look at the two or three things most likely to be leaking money on your site. No obligation. You get a written summary and a 20-minute call.
Full audit
Custom · 3–4 weeks
The complete pipeline described above. Scoped from the site’s size, tech stack, account complexity, and how many properties are in play. We quote before we start, and we stick to the number.

Not the cheapest audit. Not the most expensive. The one where a senior person actually reads your data.

Proof of the discipline

“There have been a number of times when we could have spent more money to get things done, which would have resulted in more money for PushFire, but they recommended a less-expensive approach at the expense of their pay. Who does that??? THEY DO.”

— Jessica F., Yelp Review, 2017

Past work includes The Home Depot’s search marketing team, where campaigns averaged 10× return on ad spend. We do audits the same way we ran those accounts — one honest number at a time.

Questions people ask us

Answers before you have to ask.

How is your audit different from what Semrush or Ahrefs produces?+
Those tools produce an export. We produce a decision. A scanner will tell you that 400 pages have missing meta descriptions. A PushFire audit tells you which of those pages are worth touching, which ones a bigger structural change makes moot, and which are already ranking well enough that you’d waste money editing them.
Do you offer a free SEO audit?+
Yes. The free audit is a focused pass at what’s most likely leaking on your site right now. It’s not the full pipeline — a full audit takes three to four weeks of hand analysis — but it’s honest work, and you’ll leave the 20-minute call knowing exactly what your top three issues are. If we can’t find something useful to say, we tell you that too.
How long does a full audit take?+
Three to four weeks from kickoff to written plan. Occasionally longer for very large properties or when we’re waiting on data access. We won’t rush a two-week audit to hit a three-week deadline — the whole point is that a person looks at every finding.
What do I actually get at the end?+
A written plan you own, ranked by ROI. Each item has: what the issue is, what evidence we saw, what to do about it, roughly how much effort it takes, and the expected impact. Plus a 60-minute review call with your team where we walk through it and answer questions. No animated PDF. No dashboard subscription you have to keep paying for.
Will you implement the recommendations, or is that on us?+
Your choice. Every recommendation is written so your in-house team or another vendor can act on it. If you want us to execute, we quote that work separately based on the actual scope. The audit isn’t a sales funnel — some of our best clients did the implementation themselves.
What kinds of sites do you audit?+
Enterprise commerce, professional-service firms, franchise networks, and specialty B2B. Past work includes The Home Depot’s search team, Ritz-Carlton, and Alan’s Factory Outlet. If your site’s small enough that a scanner would tell you most of what you need, we’ll say that and point you to one.
Do you audit for AI search — ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews?+
Yes. Every audit includes an AI-search readiness pass: how your content is structured for extraction, what LLMs are citing in your category, where the AI Overview and answer-box opportunities are, and what’s blocking you from showing up. We don’t oversell the AI-search opportunity — for most sites, classic search still moves the needle more — but we tell you where you stand and what’s worth doing.
Who does the actual work?+
A senior team member. Not an offshore analyst reading a template. Sean Dolan (PushFire’s founder, running SEO audits since 2009) is involved in every full audit — sometimes leading, always reviewing before delivery. That’s why we scope the way we do.
